Madeleine (she/her) is a 24-year-old soprano, actor, and director, holding a Bachelor of Music (Honours), from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts where she studied under the tutelage of Emma Matthews, as well as a postgraduate diploma in educational studies from the Queensland University of Technology (2024).

2018 saw Madeleine attend the Opera Australia Regional Scholarship Program
where she studied with former Artistic Director Lyndon Terracini and Director of Music, Tahu Matheson. Madeleine has performed in the chorus of the opera Ruddigore (2018) with Opera Queensland’s regional production and further at WAAPA, she performed in Orpheus in the Underworld (2020), The Pirates of Penzance as Edith (2021), and played Mother (Gertrud) in Hansel and Gretel (2022).

She was the 3rd place winner of the 2022 West Australian Opera Lovers Aria Prize, a recipient of the Friends of the Academy Grant, and was awarded the Ian Potter Cultural Trust Emerging Artist Scholarship. Funded by the Ian Potter Cultural Trust, Madeleine attended the 2023 Dorset Opera Summer School and worked under Artistic Director Roderick Kennedy in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro and Massenet’s Le roi de Lahore.

In further artistic pursuits, Madeleine wrote, produced, designed, directed, and choreographed an award-winning play entitled Wheatfield with Crows for Perth FRINGE WORLD 2022 festival, producing two sold-out seasons.

Madeleine is currently a cantor with St Stephen’s Cathedral and performed with Brisbane Chamber Choir and Queensland Symphony Orchestra in 2024. She was also a member of the La Boite Theatre 2024 Assembly Program as an emerging director.

Madeleine has been awarded a position in the Opera Queensland Young Artist Program and will continue to perform with OQ in 2025. She will be further directing and performing with Springboard Opera Company throughout the year.
