Maria Sherla Najera performed as soprano
soloist in Handel’s Messiah and in operas, as
Belinda in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas and Maria
Clara in de Leon Sr.’s Noli Me Tangere. She has
extensively performed renaissance, baroque
and contemporary solos and choral music at the
annual International Bamboo Organ Festival.
She taught vocal pedagogy, music education
and community music at the University of the
Philippines and is currently  
a PhD candidate at the Queensland Conservatorium,
Griffith University.
