Chloe Arentz

Soprano

Young woman with shoulder-length hair standing outdoors on a brick path, wearing a red dress or tunic, black leggings, and black slides, with a background of trees and greenery.

Chloe is a soprano in her final year of a Bachelor of Music (Honours) at the University of Queensland under the guidance of Sarah Crane.

Since moving to Brisbane from rural South East Queensland in 2017, Chloe has been actively involved in ensembles both through the UQ School of Music and in external church and community choirs including The Queensland Choir, Bach Society of Queensland and Brisbane Chorale. She has also been offered positions as a choral scholar through St. John’s College UQ (2017-2020) and at Holy Trinity Fortitude Valley (2023).

Chloe has been very fortunate to have opportunities performing a wide range of repertoire including participating in the opera chorus for UQ’s productions of Purcell’s Fairy Queen (2017) and Dido and Aeneas (2018) as well as varied scenes and excerpts. She’s also been in performances of full oratorios and other choral works including Handel’s Messiah, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Bach’s St Matthew’s Passion, B Minor Mass and Ascension Oratorio, Faure and Mozart’s Requiem, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Mahler’s Second Symphony, Britten’s Hymn to St Cecilia, Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms and Dan Forrest’s Requiem for the Living. Through her choral scholar positions she has also been privileged to perform the soprano solos for Schubert’s Mass in G, Rutter’s Requiem, Kodaly’s Missa Brevis and other various solos. She has also occasionally performed as a soloist in Bach Society’s Winter Warmers concert series.

In her spare time, Chloe enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, picking up various hobbies (currently crochet, sewing and knitting) and relaxing at home with a cup of coffee, a puzzle book and her cat.

Chloe is grateful for the opportunity of singing with The Chronicle Singers and looks forward to growing as an artist while singing in a group full of passion, talent and support.
